The LMQ Level 3 International Foundation in Biology and Chemistry aims to give the fundamental academic skills and knowledge required for successful transition into degree-level study. This programme is designed to provide learners with essential knowledge, practical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of English for Academic Purposes, Maths, IT Biology and Chemistry. By establishing a strong academic foundation, the programme prepares students for entry into their first year of university in fields such as medicine, human sciences, and chemistry.
Students must have completed a GCSE Qualification and achieved a grade C or above in English, Science and Maths subjects. A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required for entry into a foundation-level course. It is expected that the students would typically have the maturity to undertake this programme at the age of 17.
Completing the LMQ Level 3 International Foundation in Biology and Chemistry sets the stage for an array of exciting progression opportunities. Students who complete this foundation are well-prepared to advance to first-year university programmes in Medicine, Health Science, Biotechnology, and Chemistry.
This qualification is expected to be delivered minimum of 6 months for full-time study. The Colleges/ Schools should make sure the Total Qualification Times (TQM) or National Learning Hours (NLH) are covered as per the qualification requirements. This programme is flexible and delivered face-to-face, distance learning, through lectures, tutorials, seminars.
